Meet Camila, our Senior Talent Acquisition Manager. She loves getting to know people and helping them find a perfect match on our team at Wave. We sat down with Camila to get to know her better!
Can you describe your role for us?
I’m a matchmaker. I get to know all kinds of amazing people, learn what they’re all about, and then match them to the teams and roles where they would be happiest and thrive the most in. That’s when real magic starts to happen!
What advice would you give to somebody applying to work at Wave?
You can have all the technical skills in the world, but if you’re not an empathetic, good-hearted, caring person you will not work at Wave - so show us your genuine, real self!
What makes Wave different from any other company you've worked for?
The fact that we take such amazing care of our people, and I mean both our customers and employees. Feeling super well taken care of - physically with a ton of health and fitness programs and incentives, mentally with a positive environment and supportive peers, and professionally with so many learning and mentorship opportunities - makes it much easier for us to be able to also extend the absolute best care to our customers and our candidates everyday.
What is your proudest moment working at Wave?
During my first year-end at Wave, HR ran an employee survey and asked what additional benefit our employees would value most. The answer was more paid time off. As the new year rolled in, Wave announced 5 extra personal paid days off annually for every employee. The fact that Wave listens to its people and then acts on it, and seeing how valued everyone feels when that happens, makes me super proud to be part of this team.
Do you have any secret talents?
I’m a rockstar (well, Brazilian bossa nova star) in my heart! I show off some of those (lacking) skills on FB and IG @bomtomband.
If you had to describe your job with one song, what would it be?
Practically perfect from Mary Poppins. Pretty self-explanatory ;)
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
Be 100% present in absolutely everything that you do.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
Fluently speaking every Language in the world. Maybe jiu-jitsu as well, you never know when that might come in handy!
