Payments by Wave is easy to use. After just a few minutes going through our Getting Started Guide, you’ll be able to quickly and easily collect credit card payments from all major credit cards. With a simple fee structure, Payments by Wave is an easy and affordable way to get paid faster.
In this guide, you'll learn how to turn on credit card processing, set up your Payments by Wave account, and collect credit card payments.
When you’ve connected to Payments by Wave, you’ll be able to quickly and easily collect credit card payments from all major credit cards from your customers.
To get setup, select Accept Credit Cards from the top bar of your Wave account.
Simply click the big green button to turn on credit card payments. Congrats – Payments by Wave is now turned on for you! When your first customer pays by credit card, we'll follow up to collect a few more pieces of information we'll need to deposit the funds in your bank account.
For now, you're done! Your customers will now see a form to pay by credit card on the invoices you send. Just sit back, and enjoy the convenience of being paid by credit card, right through your Wave account!
Once your first customer pays by credit card, we'll email you to complete your payments setup. The sooner you do this the better: We begin the process of transferring funds to your bank account once this setup is complete.
This means the sooner you complete payments setup, the sooner you'll have money in your bank account!
To complete your payments setup, choose the Payments tab from the left navigation. Then complete the quick form for each of the steps in the application process. We need this information to verify your business and properly determine where to deposit the funds.
Once you've turned on Payments by Wave, your customers will see a form to enter their credit card information, right on the invoices you send.
This means that when you email invoices to your customers, they'll be able to securely enter their credit card information on your invoices, and you'll automatically collect the payment.
Invoices sent by PDF will include a quick link your customers can look up to securely pay your invoices online.
If you'd prefer to process credit cards yourself instead of having customers enter their credit card information, you can do this easily with Payments by Wave.
To process a credit card payment, open the invoice you'd like to add a payment for and select Add a payment. Enter your customer's credit card information, and process the payment.
From here, you can also send a receipt right to your customer's email address.
From your Wave account, we'll provide you with all the information you need when it comes to payments. You'll be able to see the details of any payments made from both the transactions and payments pages. You can find both of these pages using the left navigation tabs.
From the payments page, you'll also see when your funds will be deposited into your bank account.
Your invoice will also be marked as paid once your payment has been processed, so you never have to take extra steps to have organized records.
